Fun with Non Stickyness

So I love to oil paint but cleaning the brushes is such a bummer. I kept seeing these new Non-Stick barbeque brushes everywhere. They finally popped up in the hardware store and were being used as non-stick glue brushes. HMM I thought could I oil paint with one? So I found one for less than a quarter and gave it a go.

The brush loaded up with paint.

I just started putting stuff on a canvas to get a feel for it.

While painting I heard about a friends 100 lb. harvest of  lavender. This seemed like a lot of lavender for one person.  I was then inspired to paint a field of lavender.

Things were going okay. The brush was cake to clean and switching colors was as easy as wiping a babies butt.

I felt the brush was a little long so I hacked it down

That's more like it. I pressed on for a few days letting the paint dry between sessions. Not having a back painting (just the white canvas) I decided to work that in as a lighting effect.

The "finished" painting (are they really ever finished?)
